 How do I sign up?

Download the registration packet, complete and mail or fax to West Star. A representative will contact you and confirm registration. You can also call or email us for more information. Cost for the 5-day 2012 trip: $745. Discounted rates for returning families and scholarship opportuntiies are available.

 Is this trip going to be too much for my teen?
Each West Star trip is designed to meet the needs of the individuals who are on that trip. The focus of our teen trips is not on physical exertion but rather ensuring that teens are challenged while having fun. If your teenager is capable of basic physical activity and has no serious health related restrictions they are ready for a West Star trip.

 Why doesn't the website list the specific location and activities for each trip?
West Star trips are not designed around specific outdoor activities such as a "rafting trip". Our trips are designed around two principles: Having fun and growing personally in the wilderness. Once a specific trip has been filled the guides leading that trip assess the time of year, the weather, and the specific teenagers signed up for that trip. Based on this they plan a trip that will be safe, exciting, and fun. In the ten days prior to your departure you will receive specific details regarding your trip including destination and itinerary. If there are specific activities you are interested in (or want to avoid!) contact a West Star representative.

What kind of teenagers go on these trips?
Kids that want to have fun outdoors sign up for West Star trips. The guides identifiy areas of personal growth for each teenager and work on these personal goals throughout the trip. West Star is not for teenagers with serious behavior problems.

 What kind of gear do I need?
In the registration packet  you will find a gear list that includes everything you will need. West Star has gear that can be loaned or rented depending on availability. Don't feel obligated to purchase expensive outdoor gear without speaking with one of our guides first.

 Where do trips begin and end from?
All our trips have specific drop off and pick up locations in the Denver metro area. Transportation can be provided for those flying in from out of the state.
